🗺️ Developing Product Sense

I’ve been trying to put words to what makes some people so good at thinking through product problems. That turned into a new series on Building Blocks, starting with part 1 on Developing Product Sense.

This first piece digs into something I’ve spent a lot of time doing: paying attention to other products, asking why they work, and figuring out what those examples can teach me.

Product sense looks less mysterious when we understand it this way. It isn’t a God-given gift for conjuring the right answer from nowhere. It’s the result of a repeated loop:

notice examples → interrogate why they work → abstract the underlying pattern → apply it somewhere new → revise your understanding
